Hello,
I was just talking to a PeerFly Publisher on Skype and the topic of patience with affiliate marketing came up.
He is upset because it's taken a traffic source 5 hours to review and approve his campaign. When you read that a few times, you really understand how ridiculous it is.
We are so used to instant gratification.
I have publishers complain all the time to me about the dumbest things. For example, if I do not reply to their email within 24 hours.
What could possibly be so important that you need me to reply to your email in 24 hours? I bet if you spent 15 minutes on your own, you could find the answer to the question you are waiting 24 hours for 😃
On affLIFT, I mentioned that one of the key things I learned this year was affiliate marketing takes PATIENCE.
It seems odd that someone who has been doing affiliate marketing as long as I have would have just learned that this year. I'm sure it's been something I've thought about in the past, but it really hit home earlier this year.
I had a campaign going that had just about every single thing go wrong that could go wrong.
The offer tracking link kept getting flagged. The offer went down. The traffic source had issues. I was only able to get a net30 payment. The list of issues in the life of this campaign is a mile long.
I spent $600 without making $1 profit before I was able to get the campaign profitable. I stuck with it. I was patient.
Over the next few months, I made over $30,000 on that campaign.
I had every opportunity and excuse to give up on the campaign. But, I was patient and it paid off.
2019 is quickly approaching and I hope you'll add patience to the list of your resolutions. There are many factors that are out of your control when it comes to your affiliate marketing and life in general.
Learning to be patient and allow things to happen is something within your control and I believe it will help your affiliate marketing efforts tremendously. It did mine.
Thanks,
Luke
