Hello,
Earlier today, I was talking to some affiliates about the importance of having a good tracking tool and knowing how to use it.
It surprises me sometimes the mistakes people new to affiliate marketing are making.
It's not their fault. Affiliate marketing has a pretty big learning curve.
A good tracking tool is essential because when you are running an affiliate marketing campaign, you are not just paying for clicks. You are paying for data.
The click is not what is going to make you money. The data behind the click is what is going to make you money.
If you launch 100 campaigns this month, only a few will likely be profitable without any sort of optimization. Those few campaigns probably won't be profitable long.
Getting campaigns profitable (and keeping them profitable) is all about learning how to analyze the clicks (data) and figure out what is converting.
How can you get your EPC higher than your CPC?
That's exactly what I am focused on right now. I just launched a new set of campaigns on a traffic source called HilltopAds.
I'm buying popunder traffic for an offer on PeerFly. I have setup 4 campaigns and I am using the tracker PeerClick.
You can find my follow along here:
I have budgeted ~$200 for these campaigns. Once I get them profitable, I will scale. I'll be updating that thread throughout the next few days as I spend my budget and start analyzing and optimizing my campaigns :)
Reply to this email with the tracker you are using right now for your affiliate marketing. If you need any recommendations, let me know!
Thanks,
Luke
